OASYS - 80ies demo files

Posted in OASYS HD-1, STR-1, AL-1, Audio Demos by blogasys

As of today, February 10th, 2007 audio demo category starts.

First example is based on a HD-1 synth-pad supported by a STR-1 bass - for those who do not know I am a Peter Gabriel and Tony Levin fan

Next demo file is for sure not everyones taste, but the discussion about AL-1’s capability to reproduce typical 80ies synthesizer sounds was the motivation to give that one a try:

This one is very 80ies like - Fretless Bass and kind of FM/DX E-Piano, a 1oo% HD-1 Combination.

Last but not least a version of a sound that in my opinion is one of the best ever programmed pads and used in one of the best songs ever composed. Originally programmed on a Prophet V this sound consits of an AL-1 and HD-1 pad.

This kind of pad was used by Phil Collins “in the air tonight”. It sounds so simple but is adding so much to that song…. it is this kind of static character I like about it. You can hear it in the mix, but leaves enough place for the other instruments / sounds. Peter Gabriels Mercy Street pad is comparable… another great song, by the way.

    Hi Ian,

ooh! I forget that one already. It is somewhere on my OASYS’ HD. And no, this is not a factory sound. As far as I can recall this was programmed from scratch with AL-1. Thanks by the way for your kind feedback.

Liked your video! Thanks for the link. .. and competing with George’s voice is not one of the easiest challenges, well done, Ian.
